Since 2012, Project Samana has partnered with the veterinary college at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) in Santo Domingo.  Lectures and labs in ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedic surgery, and anesthesiology have been offered to students, faculty, and local veterinarians.  Our relationship with the university has resulted in efforts, through student ambassadors, to inspire the establishment of animal welfare programs throughout the Dominican Republic.
